Preliminary research
First, we research the corporate and financial background of the potential seller.
Evidence Intelligence for discreet acquisition projects
When the identity of the actual buyer must remain confidential, UWI handles neutral contact, preliminary checks and, upon request, coordinated support throughout the acquisition process.
For many years, we have successfully supported the anonymous acquisition of rights on behalf of our clients, including trademarks, domains and company names. Such an approach may be necessary when the identity of the actual buyer must remain confidential.
Our experience shows that once well-known brand owners, law firms or larger companies approach sellers directly, price expectations often rise significantly. Through neutral contact, fair conditions can often be secured.
Strategic advantage
In planned product launches, rebrandings or confidential projects, an anonymous acquisition can be decisive. UWI acts discreetly, reviews the background of the potential seller and clarifies willingness to sell without disclosing the client.
Procedure
Anonymous acquisition follows a clear process. Depending on the assignment, we either handle the initial contact only or support the entire acquisition project through to transfer.
First, we research the corporate and financial background of the potential seller.
We then make neutral contact, assess the willingness to sell and explore initial framework conditions.
If there is interest, we support the further discussions, clarify conditions and keep the buyer’s identity confidential.
Upon request, we carry out the purchase in trust and subsequently transfer the rights to the actual buyer — lawfully and confidentially.
Fees
Our fees depend on whether only an initial contact with preliminary research is required or whether UWI is to support the full transaction.
Payable regardless of outcome, even if no subsequent negotiations, purchase or transfer take place, per trademark or domain.
For transactions with a purchase price of up to EUR 20,000, we charge a flat fee per trademark, domain or company name.
If the purchase price is higher, the fee increases by 5% of the amount exceeding EUR 20,000. For very high purchase prices, an individual fee cap may be agreed before work begins.
The fee is payable regardless of outcome and is charged after completion of the work, even if no purchase is concluded or negotiations fail. External costs, in particular register information, notary, translation, payment or tax-related additional costs, are charged separately and commissioned only after prior approval.
Prices plus 19% VAT.
Tell us briefly about the trademark, company, product, IP right or question involved. We will provide an initial assessment of the appropriate research scope.
